First Watch is our first home. Anna and I have been to the first watch multiple times and it is by far our most visited brunch location. First Watch offers a modern farmhouse setting with active health-conscious menu options that create an absolutely delightful brunch outing. Our last visit to First Watch included chocolate chip pancakes for Anna, a power bowl, and for our special guest an Italian breakfast omelet. First Watch’s hash browns are absolutely to die for, a breakdown of their typical meals includes hearty full dishes nearly the size of the table and green sides or scrumptious potatoes. The menu includes healthy options, lighter breakfast choices, and of course, typical waffles and pancakes that are customizable. A confession we have for sure is that although the iced coffee (with milk and sugar, the normal coffee is free) is $3, that never stops us from getting two orders, we truly love that coffee and this restaurant.
First Watch it's always packed and it is important to run inside and secure your place in line or use their website alternatively call before expecting a huge plate. Don't fret, there are plenty of places to visit in Newtown (the surrounding shopping center first watch is located) to entertain an entire party of guests until your table is ready. The crowd at first watch contains a variety of churchgoers, business elite, and William and Mary alumni. While First Watch is a small chain and a lot of tourists pass through Williamsburg, the locals love it to, we have ran into plenty of people we know so First Watch is always a fun place to be!
Cheaper than your average pancake house, First Watch is a divine atmospheric and aromatic special for any brunch connoisseur.
